
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most memorable role was as private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) during which time the actor received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series and won in 1985. In the TV series Blue Bloods, Selleck has starred as Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner. Since 2005 his role was as the troubled police chief of a small town Jesse Stone in nine television films inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). Also, he's appeared in more than 50 other roles in television and films since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was a frequent TV actor, playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming, ignorant companion in The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner.
