Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. She is the fourth Roberts generation to reside in Atlanta starting with her grandfather who was a farmer, John Pendleton Roberts. Her father was an early interest in the theatre. While he was a pupil at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he was a part of many shows. In 1953, he joined the Air Force. While stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a show together with Betty Lou Bredemus. Both married in 2005 and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957, the couple were discharged from the air force and Walter started his education at Tulane. Walter was hired to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies, which aired in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou began producing a children's television program in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They funded the show by themselves. They also founded the Actors and Writers Workshop in the same year, which lasted 6 years. During this time they had two more kids Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in 1965 as well as Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
