Dua Lipa is an English singer and songwriter who was born on August 22nd, 1995 in London United Kingdom. After having worked as a model her decision was to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album. The album peaked at the top of the charts, number three on the U.K. Albums Chart and released eight singles, including Be the One I.D.G.A.F as well as her U.K. number-one single New Rules which reached number sixth in the United States. Lipa received her Brit Award in the year 2018 for British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been recognized as platinum in several countries. Dua lipa was born on the 22nd August 1995, in London with Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. She can trace her ancestors all the way back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Lipa's grandfathers were both historians. They have a brother Gjin Lipa as well as a sister Rina. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father who was the guitarist and lead singer of the Kosovan rock band Oda. In the family, her father would continue to play music including his original compositions as well as songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa started singing when she was only the age of five. After age nine, she started to sing at the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has covered If I Don't Have You as well as Beautiful by Christina Aguilera on YouTube. The year 2014 was the year that Lipa had signed a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records. In August of 2015 her first single New Love came out.
